PAVED SHOULDERS AND RESURFACING OF 58TH <br />AVENUE FROM 69TH STREET TO CR -510 - JOINT <br />PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH FLORIDA DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL DEPOSIT <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of March 8, 1999: <br />TO: James Chandler, County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E., Public Works Director C�g <br />SUBJECT: Joint Participation Agreement (JPA #4125357) with Florida Department of <br />Transportation - Paved Shoulders and Resurfacing of 58th Avenue from 69* <br />Street to CR 510 - Request for Additional Deposit <br />DATE: March 8, 1999 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On October 27, 1998 the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No. 98-120 <br />authorizing participation with the FDOT for the above mentioned road improvements. Also, <br />executed by Chairman Tippin on October 27, 1998 was a Memorandum of Agreement, dated <br />November 23, 1998 (attached), stating Indian River County would make an initial deposit in the <br />amount of $120,000 and according to Item No. 2. "Other deposits will be made by the Participant <br />as necessary to cover the cost of additional work...". <br />In a Memorandum (FAX) dated March 8, 1999 from Teresa Martin, D4 Contractual Services <br />Coordinator, FDOT (attached), an additional $5,000.00 deposit is being requested. Bids received <br />came in higher than anticipated. A breakdown of the Bid Items and Unit Costs is shown on the <br />Memorandum justifying the additional deposit. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners approve the request for an additional <br />$5,000.00 deposit for JPA # 4125357. Funding to be from Fund 109 Secondary Road Construction <br />account number 109-214-541-067.36. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Adams, the Board, <br />by a 4-0 vote (Commissioner Tippin being absent) <br />unanimously approved the request for an additional <br />$5,000 deposit for JPA #4125357, as recommended <br />by staff. <br />DOCUMENTS WILL -BE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE <br />OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />WHEN EXECUTED AND RECEIVED — <br />MARCH 16, 1999 <br />
