JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT <br />COST -SHARE AGREEMENTS FOR ROSELAND AND GIFFORD <br />STORIVIWATER IMPROVEMENTS <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of March 23, 1999: <br />TO: James E. Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: St. Johns River Water Management District Cost -Share <br />Agreements for Roseland and Gifford Stormwater Improvements <br />REF. LETTER: Debbie Hancock, SJRWMD, to James Davis dated March 12, 1999 <br />DATE: March 23, 1999 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The County has been successful in receiving grants from SJRWMD for the <br />Gifford and Roseland Stormwater projects. The attached cost -share agreements <br />appropriate the lesser of $50,000 or 13% of the cost for the Gifford Project <br />and $35,000 or 15% of the cost for the Roseland Project. These projects are <br />currently being designed by Carter and Associates and are funded by the 10 <br />Local Option Sales Tax Program. The grant is for a 3 -year period. Once <br />constructed, the County will be required to perform monitoring of the two <br />projects. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Acceptance of the grants will reduce the County's funding of the projects. <br />The alternatives presented are <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Accept the two grants (total of $85,000 maximum) and authorize the <br />Chairman to execute the Agreement. Funding for the County share <br />($541,800) will be from the 1fi Local Option Sales Tax ($1,000,000 <br />budgeted for Stormwater Improvements). <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny acceptance of the grants. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING} <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 whereby the Chairman is authorized to <br />execute the project agreement. Funding of County share is by 10 Local Option <br />Sales Tax. <br />APRIL 69 1999 <br />
