11.F.1. ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY MANUAL REVISION - <br />PROBATION AND PROMOTION SECTIONS <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of April 7, 1999: <br />TO: James E. Chandler <br />County. Administrator <br />FROM: Ron D. Baker <br />Personnel Director <br />DATE: April 7, 1999 <br />RE: Revision to Administrative Policy Manual <br />BACKGROUND <br />Sections AM -205.1, Probation, and AM -207.1, Promotion, of the <br />Administrative Policy Manual, currently limit the opportunity for <br />new and permanent employees who desire to transfer to vacancies <br />which occur during their probationary period. <br />Staff recommends revising this policy to allow all employees equal <br />opportunity to compete for position vacancies whenever a position <br />vacancy occurs. <br />If this recommended policy change is approved, Sections AM -205.1 <br />and AM -207.1 will be revised as shown by the attached applicable <br />policy pages. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approve the attached revisions to <br />the Administrative Policy Manual. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Stanbridge, the Board unanimously approved the <br />revisions to the Administrative Policy Manual as submitted, as <br />recommended in the Memorandum. <br />11.F.2.
