BOOK 103 FAGS `7 <br />SUBJECT: AWARD OF BID #9056 - McCully Marine Services <br />Artificial Reef Project <br />DATE: May 4, 1999 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On March 16, 1999, during the Board of County Commission regular meeting, the Board <br />approved a $25,000 grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental <br />Protection (FDEP) for the construction of four (4) artificial reef sites. These reef sites are <br />located approximately ten miles offshore of Sebastian Inlet. <br />Bids were received on April 30, 1999 as follows: <br />Budget $ 25,000 <br />Following the bid opening, staff contacted the Sebastian Inlet Sports Fishing Association <br />(SISFA) to inquire if any additional funds would be available for the project. SISFA <br />responded by donating $5,000 to the project bringing the total project budget to $30,000. <br />The original bid was based on the placement of 2000 tons of material (500 tons/site). Staff <br />has prepared a Change Orderto the original bid which calls forthe placement of 1300 tons <br />of material (325 tons/site). The change order reduces the contract cost by $16,100, <br />resulting in a total revised cost of $29,900. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends the bid be awarded to McCully Marine Services. Inc. and approval of <br />Change Order No.1 to reduce the contract cost by $16,100, resulting in a total revised cost <br />of $29,900.
