• <br />Chairman Macht noted that the request asks the Board to respond as quickly as <br />possible. He felt the release of monies collected from oil interests could be used for beach <br />restoration. <br />Commissioner Ginn could not support the request without reading the house and <br />senate bills as the "devil is in the details". She noted that this is indicative of the need to <br />continue the policy that no resolutions be brought before the Board prior to the Board having <br />an opportunity ity to discuss the matter. <br />Commissioner Adams did not have a problem with the request as the federal <br />government has consistently shared monies from other leases of federal lands which shows <br />their commitment to the states. She MOVED support of the resolution. <br />Chairman. Macht ruled that Commissioner Adams' MOTION DIED FOR LACK OF <br />A SECOND. <br />Commissioner Stanbridge had no problem with the resolution as it does not endorse <br />exploration off our shores. She also noted that if the states are not receiving any proceeds, <br />they certainly need it now. <br />Chairman Macht agreed to allow short comments from the public. <br />Rosemary Wilson, 1490 5'h Avenue, hoped the Board would table approval of the <br />resolution pending further information. <br />Guy Barber, 503 '1" Place, concurred and asked the Board to allow a couple of weeks <br />for retrieval of further information. <br />JUNE 19 1999 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Stanbridge, the <br />Board, by a 4-0 vote (Commissioner Tippin being <br />absent) unanimously agreed to table the matter for 2 <br />weeks. <br />• <br />-51- BOOK i09 FAGUE X60 <br />
