UW -98 -05 -DS <br />RESOLUTION IV — FINAL ASSESSMENT <br />BACKGROUND <br />On September 8, 1998, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners approved <br />Resolution III, No. 98-93, for the preliminary assessment roll on the above -referenced project. <br />Construction of the project has been completed. Customer connections have now begun, and we <br />request the Board of County Commissioners' approval of the final assessment roll. (See attached <br />minutes and Resolution III). <br />ANALYSIS <br />The preliminary assessment was for an estimated cost to be assessed of $62,840.00, which equated <br />to $0.125032 (rounded) per square foot of property owned. The final assessment (see attached <br />Resolution IV and the accompanying assessment roll) is in the amount of $52,941.63, which <br />equates to a cost of $0.105337 (rounded) per square foot of property. This is a project cost and <br />assessment reduction of 15.75%. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of County <br />Commissioners approve adoption of Resolution IV. <br />Commissioner Ginn congratulated staff on bringing the project in under the estimate. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Stanbridge, the Board unanimously (by a vote of <br />4-0) adopted Resolution 99-054 certifying "as -built" costs for <br />installation of water service to Cherrywood Estates Subdivision <br />(59th Avenue, south of 33-' Street) and such other construction <br />necessitated by such project; providing for formal completion <br />date, and date for payment without penalty and interest. <br />JUNE 89 1999 <br />24 <br />0 40 <br />
