VERO LAKE ESTATES STORMWATER RETENTION <br />PROJECT - FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF <br />ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION - EFA -319(H) <br />NONPOINT SOURCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM <br />GRANT <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of June 24,,1999: <br />TO: James E. Davis, P.E. —/ <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: EPA 319(H) Nonpoint Source Management Program Grant for <br />Vero Lake Estates Stormwater Retention Project <br />DATE: June 24, 1999 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is <br />receiving grant applications for Federal EPA 319(H) funded <br />stormwater Grants. The Public Works staff and the DEP's grant <br />consultant have prepared an application for a $400,000 -grant. If <br />received, this grant will be -matched by funding from' the Indian <br />River Lagoon program (SWIM)in the amount of $250,000, County <br />Extension office in-kind services ($8,450), the Vero Lake Estates <br />MSTU ($139,930), St. Johns River Water Management District cost <br />share grants totaling $30,000, and Indian River County Local Option <br />Sales Tax revenue in the amount of $118,800. The total non-federal <br />matching funds are $547,180 which is 58% of the project cost of <br />$947,180. <br />RECOM UMATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Board approval of the Grant. Due to time <br />constraints, the application has been sent to Tallahassee for <br />consideration. All funding of the County share of the local match <br />is budgeted. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, the Board <br />unanimously approved the application for the EPA <br />319(1) Nonpoint Source Management Program <br />Grant for Vero Lake Estates, as recommended by <br />staff. <br />GRANT DOCUMENTS WILL BE ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />WHEN EXECUTED AND RECEIVED <br />JULY 611999 <br />0 -76- <br />
