• <br />C� <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners adopt the attached resolution approving <br />the new Indian River County Local Housing Assistance Plan, authorize the chairman to sign the <br />certification page of the plan, and direct staff to submit two copies of the new plan to the Florida <br />Housing Finance Corporation for its review and approval. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1. Copy of the plan's certification page <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution No. 99-080 approving the County's Local Housing <br />Assistance Plan for FY 2000-20012 2001-2002, and 2002-2003. <br />RESOLUTION No 99 -.$CL <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA APPROVING; THE COUNTY'S LOCAL HOUSING <br />ASSISTANCE PLAN FOR FY 2000-2001, 2001-2002, AND 2002-2003. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 420, Florida Statutes, describes the State <br />Housing Initiative Partnership Program (SHIP), and states that the <br />principal objective of that program is to increase the amount of <br />affordable housing within the State of Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 6, 1993, Indian River County approved <br />ordinance number 93-13, establishing the Local Housing Assistance <br />Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the current county's Local Housing Assistance plan <br />expires on June 30, 2000; and <br />WHEREAS, The county's current Local Housing Assistance Plan <br />adequately addresses the county's affordable housing needs; and <br />WHEREAS, The new plan is basically an extension of the <br />county's existing Local Housing Assistance Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 24th, 1999, the Board of County <br />Commissioners considered proposed amendments to the county's Local <br />Housing Assistance Plan; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners <br />AUGUST 17, 1999 <br />29 <br />
