• <br />DATE: August 11, 1999 <br />TO: Members, Indian River County Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Ruth Stanbridge, County Commissioner J 0� <br />SUBJECT: American Heritage River Steering Committee <br />I have been asked to be part of the St. Johns River Steering Committee and the <br />American Heritage River Program. This Steering Committee will have members <br />representing the entire length of the St. Johns and their role will be to develop the overall <br />vision and goals for the River, set priorities for federal assistance based upon input from <br />the advisory committees, and foster partnerships between the basins. <br />The first meeting is scheduled in September and at that meeting a Chairperson will <br />be elected, a vision contemplated, policies and procedures established, and a project plan <br />developed. I would like permission to attend this meeting and any others that will be <br />necessary for our County to play a positive and productive role in protecting and <br />preserving the St. Johns River. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously approved out -of - <br />county travel for Commissioner Stanbridge to attend meetings <br />of the St. Johns River Steering Committee and American <br />Heritage River Program, as requested in the Memorandum. <br />9.A.1.
