Board of County Commissioners <br />Indian River County <br />1840 25th Street <br />Vero Beach, FL 32960 <br />Re: Nicholson, at aIJIndian River County - Round Island Bridge <br />Ladies and Gentlemen: <br />This letter represents an appeal from a decision on the part of a county officer on a matter <br />affecting a client, pursuant to Section 100.06(2) of the County's Code of Ordinances. <br />The appeal is from the County Administrator's decision denying the appeal of the Department <br />of Public Works' decision to take no action requiring alteration of the current configuration of the <br />Round Island bridge. The facts and details supporting reversal of the Administrator's decision are as <br />follows: <br />The items which follow largely were drawn from the records of Indian River County: <br />1. Map prepared by Harold Olsen, homeowner of riverfront property lying easterly of No <br />Name Island, which shows in red the location of the bridge from Round Island Park to <br />No Name Island and in blue the navigational channel to the Intracoastal Waterway from <br />the docks belonging to Mr. Olsen and his neighbors easterly of No Name Island and <br />North of Round Island Park. <br />2. Photograph ofMr. Olsen's boat prior to construction of the bridge, a 28 foot Pursuit boat <br />with fly bridge. The boat measures 9 feet from the waterline to the top of the wind <br />screen and cockpit roof. <br />3. Photograph of Venture 34 owned prior to bridge construction by Sharon Nicholson, <br />owner of one of the lots located easterly of No Name Island. <br />4.
