On behalf of the officers and directors of the Florida Association of Counties, we invite you to <br />participate in our 2000 Legislative Day! This event is an excellent opportunity for you to obtain <br />up-to-date information on legislative proposals that affect counties. The day also affords you <br />an opportunity to meet with members of your legislative delegation to discuss FAC'S Legislative <br />Program and specific concerns from your area. The program provides several hours between <br />the briefing and the reception for you to schedule meetings with your legislators for one-on-one <br />or group sessions. We also encourage you to bring your legislators with you to the reception. <br />The following is the important information you will need to finalize your plans for the day: <br />WHEN: Wednesday, March 29, 2000 <br />WHERE: Legislative Briefing - 9:00 a.m. - Noon <br />Tallahassee -Leon County Civic Center <br />505 West Pensacola Street <br />Leon County <br />Legislative Reception - 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. <br />The Historic Old Capitol <br />400 South Monroe Street <br />Tallahassee, Florida <br />REGISTRATION: $75 (includes briefings, briefing material, <br />and one reception ticket. Additional <br />reception tickets - $30) <br />HOTEL: DoubleTree Hotel - Call 850/224-5000 to <br />reserve your room at the rate of $115 S/D <br />occupancy. (Mention you are with FAC.) <br />RESERVATIONS DEADLINE - FEBRUARY 28 <br />TRANSPORTATION: Shuttle service will be provided from the DoubleTree Hotel to the <br />Civic Center beginning at 8:15 a.m. The shuttles will continue to <br />run from the DoubleTree to the Civic Center every half hour until <br />12:30 p.m. <br />If you are participating in the County Commissioners Voluntary Certification Program, <br />you can also earn three (3) hours of continuing education credit by attending this event <br />Enclosed please find a tentative agenda and registration form for the 2000 Legislative Day. <br />Your participation will demonstrate to legislators our unity and the importance we place on <br />FAC's Legislative Program.
