Taber, <br />Coastal Engineer <br />SUBJECT: <br />NOTICE TO PROCEED AWARD OF BID #2040 — <br />McCully Marine Services - Artificial Reef Project <br />DATE: April 17, 2000 <br />On January 4, 2000, during the Board of County Commission regular meeting, the Board <br />approved a $50,000 grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental <br />Protection (FDEP) for the construction of four (4) artificial reef sites. These reef sites are <br />located approximately ten miles offshore of Sebastian Inlet. <br />One bid was received on April 12, 2000 as follows: <br />Vendor <br />Total Bid <br />McCully Marine Services, Ft. Pierce, $48,000 <br />Budget <br />$50,000 <br />As a result of receiving only a single bid, County staff contacted the FDEP to request the <br />use of a sole source contractor to complete the work. Staff has received an approval letter <br />from FDEP per our request. (letter attached) <br />Staff recommends the bid be awarded to McCully Marine Services, Inc. for a total cost <br />of $48,000.
