Thompson, P.E., <br />Capital Projects Manager <br />SUBJECT: <br />Kings Highway Phase I <br />Change Order No. 5 and Final Release of Retainage <br />DATE: <br />June 13, 2000 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Construction of referenced project is complete. The attached Change Order No. 5 adjusts <br />quantities to the actual in place completed quantities. The total increases on this change order <br />are $264,888.27 and deducts are ($310.480.53), for a net reduction of ($45,592.25). <br />Dickerson Florida, Inc. is requesting final payment and release of retainage in the amount of <br />$450,293.53. A partial release of retainage was approved on December 7, 1999 when <br />construction was substantially complete. A 5% remainder was held back until as -built drawings <br />were completed. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached Change Order No. 5. This change order reduces the <br />contract amount by ($45,592.25) fora new contract amount of $6.145.232.28. The final contract <br />amount is 2.8% higher than the original contract amount and 0.8% lower than the second bidder <br />on this project. <br />Staff also recommends Final Release of Retainage in the amount of $450,293.53.
