• <br />PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING DENNIS GENTILE <br />ON HIS RETIREMENT <br />EFFECTIVE AUGUST 10, 2000 <br />WHEREAS, DENNIS GENTILE began employment with Indian River County on May <br />12,1980, as an Engineering Technician after completing course work in mathematics, land <br />surveying and construction technology at New York University in Farmingdale, New York; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, his supervisors quickly recognized his versatile talents in applying <br />engineering principles to field construction, and on January 27, 1982, Dennis was promoted <br />to Assistant Superintendent of the Road and Bridge Division; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 28, 1993, Dennis became a Certified Florida DOPT Bridge <br />Inspector, an accomplishment that only 216 individuals had held in the State of Florida at <br />that time; and <br />WHEREAS, for eleven years his supervisor, Albert VanAuken, highly acclaimed <br />Dennis Gentile's accomplishments; and <br />WHEREAS, when Albert retired, Dennis became Acting Superintendent -and <br />efficiently managed the 90 member Division, which resulted in a letter of appreciation from <br />the Risk Manager for an excellent safety record. Dennis has always received excellent <br />evaluations from Terry Cook, his current superintendent; and <br />WHEREAS, Dennis has been a valuable employee to Indian River County for over <br />20 years, and his talent and jovial personality will be sorely missed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Board extends to <br />DENNIS GENTILE thanks for a job well done. <br />Adopted this 8t' day of August, 2000. <br />AUGUST 8, 2000 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Fran B.
