There was CONSENSUS to hold the collective bargaining strategy meeting in <br />Conference Room B following adjournment of the Board of County Commissioners' <br />meeting. <br />10A CALPINE EASTERN CORPORATION - PROPOSED <br />POWER GENERATING FACILITY (BLUE HERON ENERGY <br />CENTER) LETTER OF INTENT (INDIAN RIVER FARMS WATER <br />CONTROL DISTRICT <br />Administrator Chandler reviewed a Memorandum of October 13, 2000: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: ,-%nes EChandl Cof unty Administrator <br />DATE: October 13, 2000 <br />SUBJECT: Calpine Eastern — Proposed Power Generating Facility <br />Letter of Intent <br />As the Board is aware, Calpine Eastern has proposed construction of a power generating <br />facility, referred to as the Blue Heron Energy Center. Is <br />The County has and continues to work with Calpine on the many considerations and <br />requirements necessary for processing such a project. One such requirement is the need by <br />Calpine for a water source for the plant. In that regard, the County and the Indian River Farms <br />Water Control District are working together to address that need. <br />At this time Calpine is preparing to submit a Site Certification Application to the State <br />and requires a Letter of Intent regarding the water source. Attached is the Letter of Intent <br />approved by the District Board at its meeting of October 12, 2000. <br />I recommend that the Board approve a letter in the same form for the Chairman's <br />signature. <br />October 17, 2000 <br />BK 1 15 PG 5 3 4 58 <br />
