of the Board and that public funding is a reality in cultural efforts. <br />Vice Chairman Ginn reiterated the motion that established the local art agency. That <br />was the mandate from the Commission and what is already in the Comprehensive Plan and <br />it does not go beyond that. She could support something that is already in the Plan, but not <br />what is proposed today which goes far beyond that. <br />At Commissioner Macht's request, Chairman Adams reiterated her suggestion for the <br />Commissioners to give their comments to staff and bring back the product back for public <br />hearing. <br />Commissioner Stanbridge and Vice Chairman Ginn suggested it be brought back for <br />the next cycle. <br />Chairman Adams recognized the next speaker and suggested that speaker be brief. <br />Tom Manwaring, 1015 39th Avenue, spoke in support of the amendment and pointed <br />out that bringing events to the community brings in dollars also. <br />It was determined that no one else wished to be heard and the Chairman closed the <br />public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously agreed to give <br />their comments to staff on the policies and changes each <br />Commissioner wished to see regarding arts and culture, hoping <br />they could agree upon the resulting recommendations, and bring <br />the matter back for public hearing. <br />CHAIRMAN ADAMS CALLED A BRIEF RECESS AT 11:03 A.M.
