1 <br />5517 <br />The following named persons were ordered placed on the pauper list to receive the <br />amount indicated: <br />Jennie Young, Vero beach....... • . ♦ .§6.00 per month <br />Gustaf Samuelson, Vero Beach, ......*8.00 per month <br />S. S. Warting Conservator of Farmers Bank of Vero Beach, filed a written request <br />with the Board asking that the bonds of the Vero Lel Afar Hotel corporation, and bonds <br />of the Indian River Securities Company, a corporation, now held by this Board as <br />security for the deposit of G.R.Olmstend, Tag Collector, be taken over by the Board <br />for the face amount of such deposit. After carefully considering such proposal it <br />was the opinion of the Board this be rejected at this time. <br />.The following resolution was introduced and unanimously adopted: <br />RE S 0 L U T 10 N. <br />REAS, it has <br />come to <br />the attention of the Board of County <br />Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, <br />Florida, <br />that it is possible an attempt will <br />be mode to secure <br />the adoption by the 1935 Session of the Florida legislature of an act whereby the <br />present method of distribution of racing moneys by the 6taie to the respective Counties <br />shall be changed from the present method of distribution thereof; <br />WHERE it is vitally necessary that Indian River County and many other Counties <br />in the Sate receive racing moneys as now provided, and it appears that without the <br />receipt of said moneys as now distributed, it would be virtually impossible for Indian <br />River County and other Counties in the State to carry on the essential operations of <br />County government; therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of, Indian River County, <br />Florida, does hereby record itself as opposed to any change in the present method of <br />distribution of race track funds and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded by <br />the Clerk of this Board to the Honorable C. Y, Mulerson, State Senator .rom this Dis- <br />trict, <br />and Honorable Eli C. Walker, <br />representative in <br />the <br />Legislature <br />from Indian River <br />County, <br />in order that said members <br />of the legislature <br />be <br />informed of <br />the opinion of <br />this Board and that they be herewith requested to vigorously oppose any change in the <br />present method of distribution of said moneys. <br />it was moved, seconded and carried that the Road Superintendent and Chairman of <br />the Board sell the County's speeder Machine to W .E.Fortenderry of Cocoa, for the sum <br />of 61.500.00. <br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited were <br />examined and found correct, were approved and warrants ordered issued in settlement of <br />same. The warrants so listed being listed completely in the supplemental minute book <br />as required by the state .Auditing department and made a part of these minutes. <br />The County depository filed its monthly report of receipts and disbursements of <br />the various funds <br />which having been <br />check was f ound <br />to be correct. <br />There being <br />no further business <br />on motion made, <br />seconded and carried the Board <br />then adjourned until the regular meeting to be held in april, 1935. <br />i' <br />ATYEIST <br />: Chairman <br />Clerk. <br />
