He also spoke to the need to update all of the Interlocal <br /> Agreements for Solid Waste and Recyclables Collection <br /> between the SWDD and municipalities. <br /> MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Solari, <br /> SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, to direct staff to <br /> begin updating the Interlocal Agreements between the Indian <br /> River County Solid Waste Disposal District and <br /> municipalities, keeping in mind the State's mandate to reach <br /> 75% recycling in five years. <br /> Bob Johnson, Coral Wind Subdivision, was concerned about <br /> job losses occurring when the County transitions from <br /> Republic Services to Waste Management. <br /> Staff revealed that Waste Management was interested in <br /> hiring some of Republic Services employees to fill new <br /> positions. <br /> The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> 9:49 3. Work Order CCNA-2015 Work Order (WO) No. 2 to Geosyntec <br /> a.m. for One Year of Groundwater Monitoring/Reporting and Related <br /> Consulting Services at the Former South Gifford Road Landfill <br /> (memorandum dated May 8, 2015) 237-252 <br /> Director of Utility Services Vincent Burke explained that the <br /> County's consultant, Geosyntec Consultants Inc., provides to <br /> the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) <br /> a semi-annual groundwater monitoring report on the Former <br /> South Gifford Road Landfill site. He advised that due to <br /> modifications in the reporting method, there will be a <br /> reduction in Geosyntec's staff time and associated costs. <br /> Director Burke requested that the Board approve Work <br /> Order No. 2 for Geosyntec to continue its monitoring and <br /> reporting activities for an additional one-year period. <br /> Vice Chairman Solari pointed out that the groundwater <br /> monitoring pertains to the underground chlorinated volatile <br /> organic compound (CVOC) plume that was identified at the <br /> Former South Gifford Road Landfill. <br /> ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Solari, SECONDED by <br /> Commissioner Zorc, the Board unanimously approved and <br /> authorized the Chairman to execute the CCNA-2014 Work <br /> Order No. 2 authorizing Geosyntec Consultants Inc., to <br /> provide groundwater monitoring/reporting and related <br /> Solid Waste Disposal District Page 2 <br /> May 19,2015 <br />
