Amendment No. 1 to Work Order No. 10 to Geosyntec for <br /> a.m. Continuation of Brownfield Assessment Work for the Former <br /> South Gifford Road Landfill Site <br /> (memorandum dated May 11, 2015) 253-260 <br /> Director of Utility Services Vincent Burke reported that this <br /> item pertains to the testing by Geosyntec Consultants Inc., of <br /> the surface area of the Former South Gifford Landfill to <br /> determine if it would be safe for recreational usage. He <br /> recalled the Board's authorization on March 3, 2015 for staff <br /> to meet with the Florida Department of Environmental <br /> Protection (FDEP) and the Treasure Coast Regional Planning <br /> Council (TCRPC) to discuss site redevelopment, and asked the <br /> Board to approve Amendment No. 1 to Work Order No. 10 <br /> authorizing Geosyntec to support staff at said meetings. <br /> MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Flescher, <br /> SECONDED by Chairman Davis, to approve and authorize <br /> the Chairman to execute Amendment No. 1 to Work Order <br /> No. 10 authorizing Geosyntec Consultants, Inc., to support <br /> Indian River County Solid Waste Disposal District at two <br /> meetings for the Former Gifford Road Landfill to further the <br /> site redevelopment planning for the Site at a cost not to exceed <br /> fee of$4,971. <br /> Commissioner Zorc asked whether there would be other <br /> possible uses for the site. <br /> Director Burke stated that potential uses for the site were not <br /> restricted to recreational, but precautions would have to be <br /> taken with any type of indoor usage. <br /> Vice Chairman Solari reported that the City of Vero Beach <br /> has no plans to improve their 60-acre parcel at the Former <br /> South Gifford Landfill. <br /> The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> 9:54 5.
