ARTICLE 24 <br />BEREAVEMENT LEAVE <br />24.01 Regular full time bargaining unit employees covered by this agreement shall be granted up to <br />two shifts of leave with pay for death in their immediate family without charge to medical <br />leave, annual leave, holiday time, or other accumulated time, subject to the terms of the <br />applicable District Rules and Regulations. At the discretion of the Emergency Services <br />Director or his designee, employees may split up the two shifts of leave with pay. <br />24.02 For the purpose of this article, the immediate family shall consist of Spouse, Children and <br />Step -Children, Parents and Step -Parents, Grandmother, Grandfather, Grandchildren, Brother, <br />Sister, Mother -in -Law, Father -in -Law, Son -in -Law, Daughter -in -Law, Sister -in -Law, <br />Brother -in -Law, Grandmother -in -Law, Grandfather -in -Law, Step -brother, Step -sister, or <br />Legal Guardian of the bargaining unit employee. <br />24.03 Employees shall be required to provide documentation within 90 days supporting their <br />request for bereavement leave. <br />38 <br />
