ARTICLE 25 <br />HOLIDAYS <br />25.01 The County recognizes the following holidays and any other days authorized by the Board of <br />County Commissioners under the auspices ofthe Indian River County Administrative Policy. <br />1. New Year's Day <br />2. Good Friday <br />3. Memorial Day <br />4. Independence Day <br />5. Labor Day <br />6. Veteran's Day <br />7. Thanksgiving Day <br />8. Friday after Thanksgiving Day <br />9. Last working day before Christmas <br />10. Christmas Day <br />25.02 Non -shift employees shall be given time off with pay for the above holidays. If a non -shift <br />employee works the holiday, the employee shall be paid the overtime rate at time and one- <br />half for the time worked. <br />25.03 Shift employees not required to work on a holiday will receive twelve (12) hours pay at their <br />regular rate for the pay period within which each holiday falls. Shift employees who are <br />required to work on a holiday shall receive twelve (12) hours of overtime pay, as holiday pay, <br />in addition to their twenty-four (24) hours of regular pay. <br />25.04 An employee must be on active pay status, or approved leave on the regularly scheduled <br />working day immediately prior to a holiday and the regularly scheduled working day <br />immediately following a holiday in order to qualify for the holiday time. <br />39 <br />
