130 After careful consideration on motion made by Edwin A. Helseth seconded by Frank <br />C. Vickers and carried the bid submitted by Maher's Department store for the sum of $650.00 <br />Was accepted by the Board. <br />It was or dered that the County Attorney prepare and have published advertisement <br />to receive bids on $7000.00 Indian River County Court House Bonds. <br />Frank A. Knight, Road Superintendent was instructed to have decking placed on bri <br />for L. L. Nelson. Said bridge is located just w4st`of Smith's tourist camp. <br />On motion made by Frank C. Vickers seconded by Edwin A. Helseth and carried the <br />County Attorney was instructed to take the necessary proceedure to rescind the presnet <br />action of the Board whereby the provision of the so called "Kanner Act" applied to the <br />Vero Bridge District. <br />Request from Judge Walters, Justice of the Peace, to furnish supplies for his offic <br />roved. and filed <br />was read to the Board but wa&t -caPP1-r.. A coroner's report was also read/ width reference to <br />the late Hb.1-den Alen# <br />Mrs Ruth B. Owens, district supervisior.of the Womens department of the W. P. A. <br />and Mrs Rose Toohey appeared before the Board and Mrs Owens requested the Board to make <br />provision in the budget for the year 1937-1938 for an, approximate amount of $250.00 over <br />and above the regular amounts already being expended for this department. It wasmgved by <br />Edwin A. Helseth seconded by S. E. Glover and carried and Mrs Owens was advised that this <br />amount would be appropriated from the General Revenue Fund. <br />because <br />Liquor applications for Holly Jackson and S. W. Walls were not approved/the exact <br />location of each business was not stated in either application. <br />All of the anticipated revenues for th 1937-1938 budget were read aliud to the B <br />It was ordered and agreed that no more '.'Grocery Orders" would be given by the Bo <br />It was ordered that the following names be placed on the pauper's list to receive <br />the respective sums untill the further orders of the Board. <br />J. Said sum to be paid from the Mothers' Pensi <br />fund. <br />Mrs Alma King appeard before the Board and asked for assistance. Her case was re- <br />ferred to Miss Leila M. Bunkley, County Nurse. <br />On motion made by Edwin A. Helseth seconded by E. P. Poole and carried The Press - <br />Journal published at Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida was designated as the paper <br />in which the laws of the Regular Session, Florida Legislature, 1937, are to be published. <br />A letter was received and read to the Board from Mr Walter S. Buckingham reques <br />the Board to have the bridge in Royal Park across t1le main canal repaired. This request <br />granted and the Road Superintendent was instructed to proceed with the necessary repairs . <br />It was ordered that a warrant be drawn on the Spec. Read and Bridge Dist. # 4 <br />fund in the sum of $ 300.00 and payable to C. P. Diamond for the retirement of l0 Spec. <br />Road and Bridge Dist. #,4 coupons bearing nos.24, Bonds No. 255/259 and 278/282. <br />It was ordered that a warrant be drawn on the Vero Bridge District fund for the <br />sum of $300.00 payable to Carl Fay for the retirement of 10 Vero Bridge District Coupons <br />bearing nos. 30, Bonds No. 24/33. <br />It was ordered that a warrant to be drawn on the Spec. R & B Dist. # 4 fund in the.!,. <br />sum of $112.50 for the retirement of 5 Spec. R & B Dist. coupons bearing nos.24,Bonds 98/1 <br />Said warrant payable to the Indian River Citrus Bank. <br />1 <br />
