it <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />It was -ordered that $2000.00 race track.funds be placed in the General Revenue Fund. <br />It was ordered that $2000.00 be transferred from the Vero Bridge District to the <br />Road and Bridge Fund as a partial repayment of loan due said fund and set up in the 1936- <br />1937 budget for said purpose. <br />A letter was received from.the Board of County Commissioners of Highlands County <br />and read to the Board with referrence to a•metting-called to be held in Orlando, Fla. <br />on July 8th., 1937 with regards to the problem arising mom refusal of the railroads to <br />pay one half the taxes levied against them.•.It was moved by Edwin A. Helseth seconded by <br />Frank C. Vickers and carried and Chas. A. Mitchell, County Attorney, was instructed to <br />attend said meeting to-represent•this Board. <br />A. request from I..G..Anderson was read to the Board with -,.regard to adopting a res- <br />olution permitting -School Bus stations to be erected in Indian River County. The request <br />was ordered filed ,and no .action taken. <br />The Clerk was instructed.to obtain prices on tires from the different tire Companies <br />who manufactured tires with the idea of.obtaining.the.maximum discount allowed on County <br />business. e . <br />It was ordered that.a motor be.purchased for the V -S "Pick-up" owned by the County. <br />It was ordered that warrants be drawn on the respective funds payable to the Tax <br />Collector and Tax Assessor for commissions due them for taxes collected and assessed. <br />A Statement was rendered.by.the Board.o£ Social Welfare from April 1st. through June <br />30, 1937 and a refund -of 26 cents was .ordered placed in the General Revenue Fund. <br />The -Board then resolved itself ,into a Board of Equalizers of Taxes for the purpose of <br />hearing complaints and receiving.testimony as to the value of any property, real, personal <br />or mixed, as fixed by the County Tax Assessor Of.Taxes for assessment for the taxes of the <br />year 19379 the owners and agents of property, who appeared for that purpose, were allowed <br />to make full and complete statements as to the valuation of the property owned or represen <br />ed by them .and the Tag Assessor ,and .the .mei4bers .of the Board having fully discussed the stat <br />ements and facts -as presented decided not to change the valuations as fixed by the County <br />Assessor of taxes for the year 1907,1 and thereupon"said assessment roll was approved. <br />The ,tax bods being ready ,to be returne�cI .to the Tax Assessor for the purpose of ext - <br />tending the taxes,thereon as provided by law,the Board of County Commissioners took up the <br />muter of making an estimate of the necessary expenses for the fiscal year from October 1st <br />1937 to the 30th day of September,. 1938, and having considered the receipts estimated by <br />the Clerk and the .valuation .of .the .property .AZ .the County as shown by the assessment rolls <br />prepared by the Tax' ,Assessor'and having given full consideration to the needs and neeessitie <br />of the County and the requirements for the different purposes to meet the expenses during <br />the said fiscal year, have determined and do hereby declare the following to be the expenseE <br />and all special and.extraordinary .expenses.eontemplated for the fiscal year next ensuing <br />and for which the revenue for the year.1937.from ad valorem taxation and the estimated re- <br />ceipts from other sources ,will .be ,available: <br />GENERAL REVEM FUND. <br />Per diem and mileage County Commissioners...............4 1200.00 <br />Salary.Clerk Board County Commissioners ................. 1200.00 <br />Attorney for County Commissioners.,..... ................ 900,00 <br />Sheriff, General Court work ............................. 600.00 <br />Clerk, General Court work......i...a#....R.............. 700100 <br />Tax..Assessorts commissions .............................. 2000.00 <br />Tax Collector's commissions......... :................... 2700.00 <br />Janitor Court House ..................................... 720.00 <br />Repairs to Court House .................................. 200.00 <br />Furniture & Fixtures Court House ........................ 200.00 <br />Lights.and water ........................................ 480.00 <br />InQidg2]t���.,.,.,�•eye,•,.t........,�.................... 1800.00 <br />Rent - Sewing,Room.....,.240.00 <br />Salary Supervisor of Registration .................1...,. 300,00 <br />s General & Primary Election expense ...................... 600.00 <br />
