<br />Thereupon the following bids were then publicly opened and sash -read aloud, -,to -wit:
<br />Behler Oil Company, furnishing, heating, hauling and applying road oil $.125 per
<br />gallon, 8 to 13 viscosity. Also a price of $,115 furnished and applied out back asphalt.
<br />Texas Company, for semi solid asphalt in tank cars, carload lots, a price of $O.0788
<br />per gallon. In 55 gallons nonreturnable metal drums, carload lots, a price of $0.1150 per gal-
<br />lon. In less than carload lots a price of $0.1170 per gallon. These prices are F.O.B. the
<br />Texas Cnmpany terminal, Jacksonville, Florida, with freight allowed to Vero Beadh, Florida.
<br />Action was deferred as to acceptance of the above bids until a later meeting.
<br />It was ordered Sa.ly Savage, Fellsmere; Geo. Pretty, Gifford; J. H. McClain,Gifford;
<br />and Jewel MacEachin, VeroBeach, be removed from the Paupers list.
<br />It was ordered Mrs. Jack Johnson, Gifford be placed on the Pauper List to receive
<br />the sum of $10.00 per month, until the further orders of the Board.
<br />It was ordered Lee 'McCall, Vero Beach and Gea Welling, Sebastian, receive the sum
<br />of $10.00 each for one month only.
<br />It -was ordered H. J. Jones, Gifford, receive the sum of $6.0O per month, until the
<br />further ordersf..of the Board.
<br />It was ordered Mrs. daisy Barker, Wabasso and Mrs. Neely Moods, Wabasso., be removed
<br />from the Paupers List.
<br />Application for Mothers Pension was received from Mrs. Daisy Barker, Wabasso, and
<br />was approved by the Board for the sum of $12.00 a month, until the furtheri orders of the Board.
<br />Application for Mothers Pension w as received from Mrs. Nealie Woods, Wabasso, and
<br />was approved by the Board for the sum of $8.00 a month, until the further orders of the Board.
<br />It was moved by E. P. Poole, seconded by Edwin A. Helseth and carried that the work
<br />of M. H. McEachron, Agricultural Enumerator for this County, has been examined and is approved.
<br />Charles A. Mitchell, County Attorney, was instructed to prepare notice of invitation
<br />of bids for repair and construction of Fenders of Winter Beach Bridge.
<br />B. L. Holman Appeared before the Board and presented the following written rQquest;
<br />September 7th, 1937.

<br />Gentlemen:
<br />I would greatly appreciate having your road foreman, Mr. Knight, with the County
<br />equipment, and while he is building the road from Road 30 to Mr. Cassons, repair two or three
<br />sand spots between'Mr. Casson's house and my property line-- which is Lot "L" Township 32 S,
<br />Range 36 E. as shown on printed unofficial plat of Fellsmere Estates; All of property described
<br />in above letter, except the sand spots between Mr. Casson's house and my property line, is
<br />owned by me in fee simple and no one is claiming title thereto adverse to me. I would also
<br />appreciate having the crew throw up a grade from my property line EAST-SOUTHEAST 1400 feet to
<br />the edge of a mound known as the Indian Mound.
<br />This property, and also the line for grade has already been surveyed by your engineer
<br />Mr. James, and the stakes all set.
<br />I will pay the county on the completion of this grade thru my property for the cost
<br />of same at whatever rate is fixed by the Board and Mr. Knight. I will also accept responsibil-
<br />ity for any accident that might happen while building the road thru my property at my expense.

<br />On motion made by S. E. Glover, seconded by Edwin A. Helseth and carried the Board
<br />accepted the proposal as stated above by Mr. B. L. Holman.
