Mr. J. J.. Perritt, Vero Beach, appeared before the Board and stated that there is <br />2 miles of.County roads and bridges around his property with no drainage.outlet,and requested <br />the County dig a ditch approximately 30 yards, in order to complete.the drainage and to drain <br />the surplus water. <br />On motion made by S. E. Glover, seconded by Edwin A. Helseth and carried, Frank A. <br />Knight, Road. Superinteiident-was instructed to proceed with this work. <br />W. S. Buckingham and Mr. Charles Harris appeared before the Board with regards to <br />constructing a road south of the crose State road to Jones Hammock. They stated that the own- <br />ers have no objections to having the road built across various section lines. It was stated <br />that Mr. Charles Harris and Dr. Sawyer would pay for the construction of said road provided <br />the County furnished the equipment. Said Road would be approximately 1 miles from center of <br />Section 6 to the south line of section 7. Township 32 South, Range 38 East. The Board then <br />advised Mr. Buckingham that it would be necessary for him to obtain the.right of ways from <br />the owners of this property befc5re any action would be taken by the Board. <br />Mr. Troy E. Moody, Tax Collector, appeared before the Board and requested permiss- <br />ion to purchase a new cash book which would cost the County the sum of $111.75. This request <br />was granted by the Board. Mr. Moody also stated that he would levy on personal property on <br />Friday September 10th., in order to collect the personal property tax, and requested the use <br />of a County truck and operator in the event that he should need such. This request was also <br />granted by the Board. <br />It was moved by E. P. Poole, seconded by Frank C. Vickers and carried that special <br />road projects be refered to Chamber of Commerce. <br />On motiow,mdde by E. P. Poole, seconded by Frank C. Vickers and carried it was <br />ed that a warrant be drawn on the Courthouse fund for the sum of $500.00 payable to Wm. Hensicl <br />and Son as final payment on Court house construction. <br />On motion made by Frank C. Vickers, seconded by S. E. Glover and carried it was <br />door <br />ordered that the bacw to the basement be sealed up, and the back entrance to the basement be <br />filled in and that the green paint should be removed from the top of all windows in the Court <br />House. <br />It was ordered that a warrant be drawn on the Courthouse fund for the sum of $1600, <br />payable to the Palm Beach Typewriter Company for new equipment for the Courthouse. <br />It was ordered that a warrant be drawn on the Interest & Sinking Fund for the sum <br />of $2001.87 payable to Federal Reserve Bahk of Atlanta, representing payment of principal and <br />accrued interest on Courthouse bonds #44 and #45, due September 7L, 1955. <br />It was ordered that a warrant be issued on the Interest & Sinking Fund, to the Indi <br />River Citrus Bank for the sum of $140.00 representing the payment of 7 Courthouse coupons (#4) <br />due September 1, 1937. <br />Miss Leila M. Bunkley, County Nurse, filed her report for the month of August as <br />follows, to -wit: <br />Number of cases under care during the month: 63 white and 17 colored. <br />Total number of visits to these cases were: 122 white and 25 colored. <br />These cases are listed under Health Supervision, Maternity, and Morbidity. <br />27 visits were made in behalf of these cases. <br />4 clinics were held for Veneral Diseases, at which time 10 white and 123 colored cases were <br />tested for syphliss. <br />Number of cases referred for medical examination were: 12 white and 4 colored. <br />Number.of cases hospitilized were: 2 white and 3 colored. <br />Conferences held. in behalf of the work and cases were: 29 conferences with Physicians, and 4 <br />Social Workers. One conference with District Supervisor of Nurses, 24 conferences with Inter- <br />ested individuals, and 24 conferences with other nurses. <br />1 <br />C� <br />
