<br />The Clerk was instructed to write the Planning and Zoning Commission of this City and
<br />request their presence at a meeting of this board to.be held Friday, April 15, 1938 at 1:30
<br />P. M. for the purpose of obtaining advice, suggestions and counsel of the said commission with
<br />further regard to selecting the right of way for the peninsula road from the south City limits
<br />to the south County line.
<br />There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board ad
<br />ed to meet on Friday, April 15, 1938 at 1:30 P. M.

<br />The Board of County Commissioners -of Indian River County met at the Courthouse in
<br />Vero.Beach at 1:30 P. M., Friday April 15, 1938 in adjourned meeting, with the following members
<br />of the board present, E. P. Poole, Chairman, S. E. Glover, Frank C. Vickers.and Edwin A. Helsett
<br />Absent: C. S. Michael. Also present, Wm. Frick, Sheriff, Chas. A. Mitchell, Attorney, and Leile
<br />Gray, Deputy Clerk.
<br />The Chairman announced that this meeting was for the purpose of discussing a highway
<br />on the ocean front from Beaebland Boulevard to the south lirie..of Indian River County. Discus-
<br />sions were made by.R. R. Martin, W. T. Humiston, H. W. Guthrie, W. R. Duncan, W. H. Damerow and
<br />S. E. Glover.
<br />Motion was made by John Corsa, seconded by F. R. Jewett,that a Preliminary Survey be
<br />made at once, which motion carried unanimously.
<br />Motion was made by Commissioner,. S. E. Glover, seconded by Commissioner Vickers, that
<br />the Preliminary Survey be authorized, not to exceed an expenditure of $150.00 which -amount will
<br />be appropriated by the County Commissioners for that purpose. Such survey to be carried out
<br />under the direction of the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, and.that a represent-
<br />ative of the City Planning and Zoning Commission together with the City Engineer and the Secre-
<br />tary of the Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce be requested to.cooperate with the Chairman of this
<br />board in an advisory capacity, which motion was duly carried.
<br />Bond of E. G. Thatcher as Notary Public in the amount of $500.00 with American Surety
<br />Company, as surety was approved.
<br />The application of Margaret Foster to be placed in State Tuberculosis Sanitarium in
<br />Orlando, Florida was filed. Commissioner Frank C. Vickers made motion which was seconded by
<br />Commissioner Glover that this matter be deferred until the next regular meeting to be held in
<br />May.

<br />Commissioner Glover introduced.the following resolution and moved its adoption:

<br />WtXREAS, Chapter 18601, Acts of the Florida Legislature of 1937, providee for the
<br />holding of an election by this Board of -qualified electors residing within the boundary of
<br />INDIAN RIVER FARMS FIRE CONTROL DISTRICT, in Indian River County, Florida, as described in said
<br />
