act, for the purpose of permitting a majority of such qualified electors to ratify or reject the <br />said*Act, and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of said Act notice of such election has been.,pub- <br />fished in the Vero Beach Press -Journal in Nero Beach, Florida, and which notice has been ordered <br />to be <br />so published <br />for two weeks before the <br />day when <br />such election,is <br />to be held, namely, May 3, <br />1938, <br />as provided <br />and required by said Act, <br />and <br />s <br />WMREAS, it is provided by said Act that this Board do prepare and fix the ballots of <br />said election; therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the form of the ballot to be used in such election shall be as <br />follows: <br />No. <br />---------------------------------- ---------- <br />No. <br />Special Election <br />Pursuant to Chapter 18601, Acts of Florida Legislature <br />for 1937, held May 3, 1938, for ratifying or rejecting <br />the establishment of INDIAN RIVER FARMS FIRE DISTRICT <br />in Indian River County, Florida. <br />Mark an i`_in .the square at the left of the proposal you <br />favor. <br />Shall a special taxing district to be known and designated as INDIAN RIFER FARMS <br />FIRE CONTROL DISTRICT, in Indian River County, Florida, theyterritorial boundaries <br />of which shall be all of the territory in Indian River County, Florida, now known <br />and designated as Indian River Farms Drainage District, except that portion of said <br />drainage district located within the city limits of the City of Vero Beach, as pro- <br />vided by Chapter 18601, Acts of the Florida Legislature for 1937 be established and <br />ratified: <br />Yes <br />• <br />• No <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the polling places for the holding of said election be and <br />they are designated as the polling places within said district as shall be established and used <br />for the holding of the primary election in Indian River County on May 39 1938, and that the elee• <br />tion officials heretofore designated and appointed for the purpose of conducting said primary <br />election of May 3, 1938, be and they are herewith designated as election officials for the hold- <br />ing and conducting of the special election herewith provided. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Board is instructed to cause to`be <br />printed ballots for the holding of the election herewith provided, and to make such other ar- <br />rangements as may be necessary for the conducting of such election. <br />Adopted unanimously. <br />Upon Motion of Commissioner Frank C. Vickers, seconded by Commissioner Edwin A. <br />the bill for Deputy Registration Officers was approved, and the Clerk instructed to issue War <br />rants therefor, which motion carried. <br />The Bond for Clyde Boyd as Deputy Sheriff in the sum -.of $1,000.00 with Grace S. Wise <br />hand Anna B. Morris as Sureties was approved. <br />There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the board then <br />adjourned - until 9:30 o'clock A.
