<br />It was further resolved that at a regular- meeting of, thia Board ,ta,:bye° held. -on the . 2nd.
<br />day of August, 19.389 the foregoing estimates shall. be taken up and considered and acted upon
<br />and at the same time the tax levy for the year 1938,.will be. made.
<br />Mr. F. C. Poppell again appeared before the Board with regard to erecting a monument
<br />on the Court House grounds and after consideration the Board advised, - Ur* Poppell that they had
<br />definitely decided that they would not purchase a monument at this ..time.
<br />,Yr. Forrest C. Graves appeared before the Board. and.requested,the Board modify their
<br />former action regarding the rental of County equipment to the extent that it might be rented in
<br />emergencies when citrus Groves were threatened by high water caused.by excessive rains. No
<br />action was taken.
<br />Kr. W. S. Buckingham again appeared before the Board with regard to a bridge across
<br />Blue Cypress creek. The Board a dvised Mr. Buckingham the.* would give considerable thought to
<br />his request.
<br />It was announced by the Chairman .that the time had arrived, namely on or before 10:00
<br />o'clock A. M., for the opening of sealed bids in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court
<br />of Indian River County, for two trucks and one tractor, as invited by public notice published
<br />in the Vero Beach Press -Journal, a newspaper of general circulation, published at Vero Beach,
<br />Indian River County, Florida, and sworn proof of the said publication of said -public notice
<br />being herewith filed and reading as follows:
