Knight, Road Superintendent be authorized to sell a used Tar <br />Pot for the sum of $15.00. <br />At..the request.of the American Legion and on motion made by S. E. Glover, seconded by <br />C. S. Michael and carried, Douglas Baker, Clerk and E. P. Poole, Chairman were selected as a <br />committee to have erected a Flag Pole on the Court house grounds, the Legion to furnish the Flae <br />Commissioners C. S. Michael and Douglas.Baker, Clerk were appointed as a committee to <br />prepare specifications for wiring the Winter Beach Bridge and Bridge Tender*a house and submit tc <br />Electrical Contractors for estimates of the Bost of labor and materials. Current to be supplied <br />by the Florida Power and Light Company. <br />Relative to the erection of Colored Rest Rooms the County and City have agreed to <br />bear the cost of the building jointly. Douglas Baker, Clerk was authorized to write a letter tc <br />the City Officials advising that this Board had budgeted and has on hand funds for our portion <br />of the cost of constructing said Rest Rooms and to request the City to take charge of the pro- <br />ject and call on this Board for any assistance that might be required and further before begin- <br />ning actual construction to have a representative of the City to meet with the County Commissio <br />ers for the purpose of.discussing plans for the building as to its location and its cost. <br />Messrs. Daniels and Surrency and Hudson Parker appeared before the Board,'stated they <br />owned approximately 90% of the Cattle in Indian River County, that they owner several hundred <br />acres of land in this County on which the Taxes were paid and calling the Boards attention to <br />the importance and necessity of having a Cattle Inspector, requested the Board recommend to the <br />Governor the appointment of Mr. Hudson Parker as Cattle Inspector for their district. It was <br />moved by C. S. Michael, seconded by S. E. Glover and carried that the board rescind the action <br />taken at a regular meeting on October 4th., 1938 and so recorded in the County Commissioners <br />Minutes on Page 277, Book 2, in which they recommended the appointment of Mr. Ed McLaughlin as <br />Cattle Inspector for the District West of the Marsh. <br />It was ordered that.Chas. A. Mitchell., Attorney take.the proper and necessary procedu <br />to redistrict the County, thereby creating three (3) Cattle Inspection Districts. It was then <br />moved by C. S. Michael, seconded by S. E. Glover and carried the Board recommended to the <br />Governor the appointment of Mr. Gilbert Barkoskie of Fellsmere as Cattle Inspector for District <br />No. 2. Mr. Hudson Parker as Cattle Inspector of District No. 1, and Mr. A. Z.
