i <br />1 <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd., 1939. <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian -River County met at the Court house in <br />Vero Beach, at 10.00 A. M. Tuesday, October 3rd, 1939 in regular meeting with the following <br />members of the Board present; C.' S. Michael, Chairman; S. 3. Glover, W. C. Graves, Jr., Frank <br />C. Vickers and Albert 0, Helseth. Also present were Wm. W. Frick, Sheriff; Atterneys Mitchell, <br />Smith & Mitthell and Douglas Baker, Clerk. <br />The minutes of August 8, 15, September 5 and 9 were read and approved. <br />Dr. C. W. Pease, District Health Officer appeared before the Board and gaveM1an out- <br />line regarding a proposed concentrated Health Unit for Brevard and Indian River Counties. Aft <br />considerable discussion it was moved -by W. C. Graves, Jr., sdconded by S. E. Glover that the <br />Board attend a joint meeting.to.be held at Melbourne at 9:00 A. M. Friday, October 6, with the <br />commissioners of Brevard County and Dr. Chappel of the State Board of Health,, Jacksonville, <br />Florida,for further discussion and consideration of the proposed concentrated health unit. <br />Coroners Reports in the matter of the death of Mrs. M., A. Rinks and Amos Knight were <br />received and ordered filed. <br />It was ordered the following persons be placed on the Pauper's list to receive the <br />sum set out opposite.their.nameseach month until the. -further orders of the Board. <br />Mrs. Mollie Hinton Winter Beach 7.00 <br />Mrs, Emma`Lewis Fero Beach 6.00 <br />Mrs. Carrie Bell Blanton Winter Beach i 15.00 <br />It was ordered R. W. Baker be removed from the Pauper's list. <br />On motion made by W. C. Graves, Jr.4 seconded by S. E. Glover and unanimously carri <br />the Board agreed to purchase a Mower -Grader from the Clewiston Motor Company for the sum of <br />$4165, payable as follows: $1165 on December 10. 19390 $1000 on January 10. 1940, $20OQ on Sept. <br />ember 109 1941, at 6% per„annum. <br />Miss LeilaM. Bunkley, County Nurse appeared before the Board and made a report of <br />her activities for the month of September as follows, to -wit: <br />County Nurse's Monthly Report, Septeftber'�1939. <br />Total number of cases fdr the month 73- <br />. Cobb be allowed to purchase a County Record Book for <br />On motion made by W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded by Frank C. Vickers and unanimously <br />carried the Board appropriated $100.00 for the Armistice Day Celebration Committee and instrue, <br />ed the Clerk to.draw a warrant'on the General Revenue.Fund in payment of same. <br />Commissioner W.
