M <br />dTownships 31 and 32 South; thence Easterly on Township line between Townships 31 and 32 to the <br />shore of the Atlantic Ocean; thence meandering with the shore of said Ocean to place of begin- <br />ning. <br />To provide treasury funds for the VERO BRIDGE DISTRICT. in accordance with the laws <br />of Florida, as amended by the Acts of the 1927 Legislature, it was determined that a tax rate <br />of One (1) mill on the dollar be levied and is hereby fixed and assessed for the year 1940, on. <br />all of the property in the County of Indian River lying and being within the boundaries of said <br />Vero Bridge District for the purpose of retiring indebtedness not outstanding and unpaid, and <br />meeting necessary expenses, the total sum estimates in the budget being $3,277.50. <br />To provide Treasury funds for the JgAY BRIDGE DISTRICT.oin accordance with the laws <br />of Florida, as amended by the Acts of the 1927 Legislature, it was determined that a tax rate <br />of Four (4) mills upon the dollar be levied and is hereby fixed and assessed for the year 1940, <br />on all of the property in the County of Indian River, lying and -being within the boundaries of <br />said Quay Bridge District for the purpose of properly operating the bridge in said District <br />and the reasonable and usual repairs and maintenance of said Bridge and the approaches thereto, <br />the total sum estimated in the budget being $5,153.75. <br />To provide treasury funds for WABASSO BRIDGE DISTRICT, in accordance with the.laws <br />of Florida, as amended by the Acts of the Legislature and it was determined that a tax rate of <br />Ten,(10) mills on the dollar be levied and is hereby fixed and assessed for the year 1940, upon <br />all of the property in the County of Indian River lying and being within the boundaries of said <br />Wabasso Bridge District for the purpose of paying interest upon and providing a sinking fund <br />for the purpose of retiring.Refunding Bonds of said Wabasso Bridge District, dated January lst, <br />1935, five (5) mills -for Interest and Sinking Fund purposes, proceeds of which said levy shall <br />be remitted to the State Treasurer as County Treasurer Ex -Officio as and when collected and <br />five'(5) mills for Refunding Expenses, proceeds of which said levy shall be remitted to the <br />Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, the total sum estimated in the budget being <br />$2,770.75. <br />Commissioner S. E. Glover, thereupon, offered the following Resolution: <br />RESOLVED, that the Tag Assessor is and for the County of Indian River, State of <br />Florida, be and he is hereby directed to levy and assess all of the foregoing taxes as fixed <br />and levied by this Board upon the property as levied and that he extend the taxes on the valu- <br />as <br />ation of such property according to said millage/fixed and determined by this Hoard on all <br />the property subject to taxation in.the said County of Indian River, as to all taxes levied <br />and intended to be entered on the assessment roll under the head of County taxes and upon all <br />property lying and being within the Districts as described within the County of Indian River, <br />as of the first day of January, 1940. <br />RESOLVED, further that the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Clerk of this Board, be and <br />he is hereby directed to furnish to W. R. Duncan, Tax Assessor of Indian River County, .a full <br />and complete copy of this resolution. <br />RESOLVED, further that the Clerk and Audit -or of the County be notified of the amount <br />to be. -apportioned to the different accounts out of the total taxes levied for all purposes. <br />The motion for the adoption of said resolution providing for the levy of taxes was <br />seconded by Commissioner Graves and adopted by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Graves, Glover, Vickers and Selseth. <br />Neyes: None. <br />Mr. Arnold Davis appeared before the Board and protested the closing or fencing of a <br />certain road,by Manley Kersey, which had been used for many years past as a public thoroughfare <br />and used by him (Bir. Davis) in going to and from his property. After considerable discussion <br />it was moved by S. E. Glover, seconded by Frank Vickers and Uanimously carried that the <br />
