<br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court Rouse in Vero
<br />Beach at 2:30 o'clock P. M. Tuesday, August 12 1944, in special meeting with the following

<br />,jmembers of the Board present: W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman;, Albert 0. Helseth, and S. E. Glover.
<br />Absent: Frank C. Vickers and G. T. Barkoskie. Also present were Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney
<br />for the Board _and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
<br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
<br />Bond of Supervisor of Registration of'Blectors for D. A. Lawson in the sum of $500.00
<br />U. S. Fidelity and Guaranty Company, Baltimore, Maryland, was approved.
<br />On Motion duly made, seconded and.carried the following Agreement was entered into be -
<br />tween Indian River County, Florida and the United States of Americas
<br />THIS AGREEMENT entered into this First Day of July, 19449 by and between INDIAN RIVER
<br />COUNTY, FLORIDA, a political subdivision of the State of. Florida, Vero Beach, Florida, herein-
<br />after called the Grantor, and TSE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, hereinafter called the Government,
<br />WITMLSSETE:
<br />The Grantor for -and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) to it in hand
<br />paid, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hereby grants and conveys to the Government the
<br />right to clear the hereinafter described land above the ground of any obstructions, natural or
<br />artificial, and to maintain said land in that condition for the duration of the National Emer-
<br />,genoy and Sig (6) months thereafter, reserving to the Grantor, however, the right to use said
<br />land for grazing purposes; it being agreed by the Grantor that any timber or other obstruction
<br />!"which may be cleared and removed from said land by the Government shall belong to, and be the
<br />,, property of, the Government.
<br />The tract of land covered by this Agreement is described as follows:
<br />That portion of the right-of-way of a graded County Road which has been constructed on
<br />the line separating the West Half (Wj) of Section 13 from the East Half )Ej) thereof, and se-
<br />parating the Northwest Quarter (NWJ) of Section 24 from the Northeast Quarter (Y) thereof,
<br />rbich lies within the perimeter of Tract "B" described in Condemnation Proceeding entitled:
<br />United States of America v. 604.09 Acres,.M/L, Indian River.County, Florida, Suit No. 61 -Ft. P.
<br />,'Civil, all in Township 31 Scuth, Range 38 Bast, Indian River County, Florida, containing 9.28

<br />acres.

<br />The Grantor herein named represents to the Government that it is the owner of the pro -
<br />,p y power and lawful right to receive and accept the considera-i
<br />art herein described and has full i
<br />o tion mentioned herein.
<br />No Member of or Delegate to Congress or Resident Commissioner shall be admitted to any I�
<br />share or part of this Agreement or to any benefit to arise therefrom. Nothing, however, hereini;
<br />�contai.ned shall be construed to extend to any incorporated company if the Agreement be for the:,
<br />'!'general benefit of such corporation or company.
<br />This Agreement has been negotiated in settlement of. Condemnation Proceeding entitled:

<br />United States of America v. 604.09 Acres of Land, More or Less, in Indian River County, Florida,
<br />1!and ammoniate Products Corp., at al., defendants, No. 61 -Ft. P. Civil in the United States Dis-
<br />triot Court for the Southern District of Florida.
<br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have set their hands the day and date first
