• <br />1 <br />Douglas Baker, Clerk, was instructed to write a letter of appreciation from the Board <br />to t e several doctors of Indian River County for theirservices rendered in connection with <br />the aunty Health Clinic. <br />Douglas Baker, Clerk, was instructed to write a letter to Chief C. W. Pierce, repro- <br />sent g the Veterans of Foreign Wars, in reply to a letter of recommendation received from them <br />recommending Dr. Leckie as a qualified candidate for the position of Service Officer in Indian <br />River County. <br />The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner Graves who moved its adoption; <br />as follows, to -wit: <br />RRESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, Honorable D. A. Lawson died on August 27, 1945 and at the time of his death <br />was the Supervisor of Registration of Indian River County; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Lawson performed his duties as County Supervisor of Registration faith- <br />• fully and efficiently and to the satisfaction of all citizens of the County and was a highly <br />esteemed citizen; therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners does hereby express its regret,li <br />as a Board and as individuals, upon the passing of Mr. Lawson and extends sincere sympathy to <br />'the members of his family. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this Board; <br />that a certified copy hereof be forwarded to the family of Mr. Lawson; and that a copy hereof <br />be published in the Vero Beach Press Journal. <br />The motion for the adoption of the resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner <br />'Vickers and unanimously adopted. <br />1 <br />1 <br />• <br />The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner S. E. Glover who moved its <br />adoption as follows, to -wit: i! <br />RESOLUTION <br />'WHEREAS, there is a balance in the Outstanding Indebtedness Fund of $6946.86, and not, <br />sufficient funds in the Road and Bridge Fund to meet current bills of said fund, funds under <br />the control of this Board; and, <br />WHEREAS, due to the heavy demand that has been mdde upon the Road and Bridge Fund to <br />meet current and extraordinary expenses; and, <br />WHEREAS, all Road and Bridge Bills approved and all other obligations approved at the <br />time of making said budget and as designated in said Outstanding Indebtedness Fund have hereto <br />fore been paid in full, either from said Outstanding Indebtedness Fund or from other funds of <br />said County; <br />THAT THEREFORE, the otginal debt in said Outstanding Indebtedness Fund for which said <br />fund is legally responsible and liable has been retired and a surplus remains in said fund of <br />.said sum of $6946.86; <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the sum of $6946.86 be transferred from the Outstand <br />,ing Indebtedness Fund to the Road and Bridge Fund, upon the approval of the State Comptroller, <br />to assist in meeting the current and extraordinary expenses of the County. <br />The motion for the adoption of the resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner <br />,Vickers and unanimously adopted. <br />Clerk of the Circuit Court, Douglas Baker, filed his semi-annual report of fees and <br />commissions for the period January 1, 19441 to June 30, 1945, as follows: <br />
