W. <br />1penditures the following resolution was introduced by Commissioner/Gravest who moved its j <br />jadoption, to -wit: j <br />I <br />0 <br />1 <br />0 <br />1 <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the rate of Taxation necessary to meet the expenditures <br />the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, for the fiscal year 1946- <br />!1947 pursuant to the budget of said Board as heretofore published, amended and approved, is as <br />°hereinafter levied and that the tax rate as hereinafter shown and set forth, be and it is here- <br />"by levied on all taxable property in Indian River �ounty9 Floridat for the year 19469 -with the <br />i <br />,,rate hereinafter set out$ to -wit: <br />In order to meet the estimated current expenses of the County of Indian River of the <br />"sum of $58,075.00, it is determined and hereby declared that a tax rate of two and two-fifths <br />(2 2/5) mills upon the dollar be levied and is hereby imposed upon all of the property lying <br />i <br />Mand being in the County of Indian River on the first day of January 19469 for the GENERAL REVEN <br />0 FFUJD, to meet the current expenses of the County and to provide for the expenditures as <br />!'iestimated in the budget hereinbefore set forth. <br />i <br />To cover the amount of the estimated expenses for keeping the County Roads in good <br />;'shape and for the construction and repairing of bridges and other necessary expenses to keep <br />the roads of the County in good condition and provide other roads when necessary of $72,905.00, <br />it is ddtermined and hereby declared that a tax rote of Five and one-fifth (5 1/5) mills upon <br />the dollar be levied, assessed and is hereby imposed upon all of ;the property lking and beim <br />in the County of Indian River on the first day of January, 1946, to meet the current expenses <br />of the County as estimated in the budget for the ROAD &:MDGEEFUND. <br />According to the millage so determined, fixed, assessed the total millage to be en- <br />tered in the column provided for the County taxes in the assessment Poll for the year 1946, is <br />i!Seven and six -tenths (7.6) mills upon the dollar, to cover a total estimated expenditure of <br />;` $130 t 980, off, <br />i <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Tax Assessor in and for Indian River County, Florida, <br />be and he is hereby directed to assess afld levy the foregoing taxes as fixed by this Board upon <br />'the taxable property in Indian River County subject thereto, and that he extend such taxes on <br />property <br />;the valuation of such/according to said millage as fixed and determined and levied by this <br />1 , <br />;!Board as provided by law; that a certified copy of this resolution be furnished to the Cou#y <br />Tax Assessor. <br />The motion for the adoption df the Saidgresolution for the levy of taxes was seconded <br />jby Commissioner Hiotrer�and unanimously adopted. <br />There being no further business,on motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />the Board then adjourned. <br />-- CHAIRMAN PRO TEM <br />ATTEST - <br />CLERK �!` — <br />I-------r—i---—r---------------- —— <br />r—r--------------rr--r------------r—r------if n. ---------tee! <br />I <br />MDAY3 SEPTEMBER�,,3 8 �,2M <br />r.m�rs� ■ r.onrr�. <br />The Board of County'Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House in <br />Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock, A. M. Tuesday, September 3, 1946, in regular meeting with all <br />members present. Also present were Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney; E. E. Carter, County En- <br />gineer; L. B. O'Steen, Sheriff; and Douglas Baker_, Clerk. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br />Lim Knight, Frank Norman, Jimmy Reams and Herb S. Huy appeared before the Board as <br />�a committee from the Rod and Gun Club and requested a report as to the Blue Cyprus Lake road <br />R _ <br />
