<br />Application for license (Series 7* COP) to sell intoxicating liquors, wines and beer
<br />jwas presented by Alton Kitching for the Paradise Inn located on South Emerson Avenue, Indian
<br />River County, was presented to the Board' and after carefully considering the same, action was
<br />postponed until the next regular meeting of this Board to be held Tuesday' June 3, 19471 and
<br />;Douglas Baker' Clerk,was instructed to write to Mr. L. S. Gollnick and Mr. Frank P. Conroy,who
<br />had presented a petition signed by them.and numerous other residents and property owners near
<br />;Emerson Avenue on November 5, 1946, requesting the County to prohibit the sale of Wines, beer
<br />or whisky in that area,in order that they might be present at the next meeting of this ward.
<br />at which time further consideration of the application made by Mr. Kitching would be given.
<br />Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney, was instructed to prepare a notice that the dumping
<br />�of refuse, tree-prunings and/or other debris upon the rights-of-way of County roads is pro-
<br />�hibited by law, and that all citizens having knowledge of such dumping are requested to' -furnish
<br />�Ithe information to Douglas Baker, Clerk, or L. B. O'Steen, Sheriff, and to the -end that the j
<br />(County roads may be maintained free from such obstructions.

<br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House in
<br />Vero Beach, Florida, at 10:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday' June 3, 1947, in regular meeting with
<br />the following members of the Board presents W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairm R; Frank Co Vickers,
<br />�S. E. Glovek, and Albert 0, Helseth. Absents J. L. Helpling. Also present were Charles A,,
<br />B1li.tchell, Attorney; E. E. Carter, County Engineer; and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
<br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
<br />Bir. Alton Kitching appeared before the Board in behalf of application for liquor
<br />ease which had been presented at a special meeting of this Board held May 20, 1947, and on
<br />hick action was deferred until this date. Meseen ftllnick, Conroy, Kenn, and Sleeth also
<br />liquor
<br />ppeared before the Board protesting the application for/license presented by Alton Kitching.
<br />he Board advis, 4 all interested parties that no decision could be readhed until all of the new
<br />awslnecently passed by the Legislature, could be received and studied, and that application f ori
<br />he license would be passed until 1Os00 o'clock A. M., Saturday, June 14, 1947, at which time
<br />n adjourned meeting would be held•for this purpose and believing that the necessary and re-
<br />aired information as to copies of the new laws pertaining to the approval or disapproval of
<br />i
<br />elverage license would be received.

<br />mittee representing the citizens of Winter Beach and requested certain salvage materials from
<br />the Winter<=Beach bald a for the purpose of using same in the construction of 'a rand stand and
