<br />The Board then considered the County Budget and Budget estimates as prepared by
<br />the Board at its meeting of July 12, 19479 and duly advertised, as provided by Law' in the Vero
<br />i
<br />jBeach Press Journal, in its issues of July 18 and �5, 1947. Thereupon Commissioner S. E.
<br />i
<br />';Glover introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption to -wit:
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has made and completed the estimate of
<br />its necessary and ordinary expenses and of all special and extraordinary expenditures contem-
<br />plated, as required by law, and has duly advertised the same as required by law and this being
<br />the first meeting of said Board of County Commissioners subsequent to the advertising of the
<br />same and said budget being now before this Board for final consideration and adoption and ha
<br />been duly considered; therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED that the said County Commissioner's bmdget and estimate of expenses
<br />and expenditures for the year 1947-1948 as heretofore prepared and duly advertised and it is
<br />N herewith ratified, confirmed, and finally adopted by this Board.
<br />'I Motion for the adoption for the Resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Albert
<br />0. Helseth and unanimously adopted.
<br />The Board then proceeded with the matter of fixing the rate of taxation for Indian
<br />River county for the year 1947 and:, after careful consideration of the estimated receipts and
<br />expenditures' the following resolution was introduced by Commissioner S. E. Glover who moved
<br />its adoption' to -wit:
<br />WHEREAS, all acts having been performed and all proceedings had as required by law
<br />and preliminary to the levy of taxes in Indian River County, Florida, for the year 1947; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the respective boards and taxing districts being authorized to fix and levy
<br />taxes upon property situated within Indian River County, Florida, as provided by laws fixed
<br />such tax levies and have certified the same to this Board and this Board having considered the
<br />;same and having then found them to be proper, therefore be it resolved that;
<br />Estimates having been made by the Board of Commissioners of INDIAN RIVER M0S0WT0
<br />IjCONTROL DISTRICT, and a certified copy of the resolution filed with this Board, as required by
<br />flaw, and as estimated by the Board of Commissioners, it is determined and hereby declared that
<br />�a tax rate of Four and one-half (4.5) mills upon the dollar be levied, and is hereby fixed and
<br />is
<br />assessed for the year 1947, an all of the property taxable for such purpose as provided by law
<br />1�in the County of Indian River, lying and being within the boundaries of said Indian River Mos-
<br />,
<br />• quito Control District the boundaries of said District being descried as follows, to -wit: All
<br />fat territory in Indian River County,Florida,included with the boundaries described as follow
<br />o t: Begin at a point where the South boundary line of Indian River County, Florida,
<br />iiintersects the Atlantic Ocean; thence run West along the South boundary line of Indian River
<br />;(County, Florida' -to the Southwest corner of Section 31, Township 33 South, Range 36 East;
<br />thence run North along the range line dividing Range 35 East and Range 36 East to the Northwest
<br />(';corner of Section 61 Township 33 South, Range 36 ,East, and which corner is. on the boundary line
<br />dividing Township 3-2 South and Township 33 South; thence run East on the boundary line dividing
<br />,Township 33 South and Township 32 South to the Southwest corner of Section 36,Township 32
