County Administrator's Recommendation Exhibit K <br />DEPARTMENTAL SERVICE (25/50 Points max) <br />Total years of service completed; credit is 1 point per full year. Total years in rank completed; credit <br />is 1 point per full year. For promotion from Firefighter to Driver/Engineer, only total years of <br />service points will be credited. For promotion from Driver/Engineer to Lieutenant, additional years <br />in rank points will be credited for time in Driver/Engineer rank. For promotion from Lieutenant to <br />Captain, additional years in rank points will be credited for time served as a Lieutenant. Maximum <br />score for Service is 25 points for Driver/Engineer promotional testing and 50 points for Officer <br />promotional testing. <br />OTHER FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED BY THE PROMOTIONAL BOARD — NO -POINT <br />EDUCATION (100 Points Maximum) <br />College OAK Degrees S: <br />BS OR or BA department related 10 points <br />AS OR or AA department related 5 points <br />BS OR or BA in non -department related5 points <br />AS OR or AA in non -department related3 points <br />Paramedic Certification: 2 points <br />Applies only if hired prior to the consolidation implementation date of 6/2/06. <br />Instructor Certifications: 2 points <br />Any approved and accredited field related instructor certification that is comprised <br />of at least 40 hours of instruction and requires an examination to obtain and a review or <br />CEUs to maintain and approved by the Training Division. Instructor certifications must <br />be current to receive points. Each instructor certification equals 2 points. <br />Educational Courses: 1/2 (0.5) point <br />Any approved and accredited field related educational course that is at least 40 <br />hours in length, given by any college, Fire/EMS or public safety agency or private company <br />and approved by the Training Division. Each educational course equals 1/2 (0.5) point. <br />Courses less than 40 hours shall not be used for points. <br />Florida Hazardous Material Technician: 2 points <br />Any candidate who holds a current Florida Hazardous Material Technician <br />certification and who has completed and passed the required 160 -hour hazardous material <br />course shall receive 2 points. <br />DISCIPLINARY RECORD: <br />Any employee on a last chance agreement is ineligible to test. In addition, points shall <br />be deducted from the final raw score for the following disciplinary records. The deduction <br />applies 12 full months from time of final disciplinary action.
