County Administrator's Recommendation Exhibit M <br />26.043 ACCRUAL <br />A. For employees hired before the beginning of the first pay period after Union <br />ratification and County approval of this Agreement, and who have a balance on <br />that date that equals or exceeds fifty (50) days, Mmedical leave may be <br />accumulated for a total of no more than one hundred (100) days at the employee's <br />anniversary date. <br />B. For employees hired before the beginning of the first pay period after Union <br />ratification and County approval of this Agreement, and who have a balance on <br />that date of less than fifty (50) days, medical leave may be accumulated for a <br />total of no more than fifty (50) days at the end of the calendar year. Any <br />medical leave in excess of the 50 -day threshold at the end of the calendar year <br />will be forfeited without compensation. <br />C. For employees hired on or after the beginning of the first pay period after Union <br />ratification and County approval of this Agreement, medical leave shall not <br />exceed thirty (30) days at any time. <br />26.054 USE OF MEDICAL LEAVE <br />MEDICAL LEAVE MAY BE GRANTED FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: <br />A. Personal injury, pregnancy or illness not connected with work. <br />B. Medical, dental, optical or chiropractic examination or treatment. (Refer to <br />"D" for members of employee's family.) <br />C. Exposure to a contagious disease which would endanger others. <br />D. Illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who lives <br />permanently in the same domicile which requires the personal care and <br />attention of the employee. No more than five (5) working days a year may be <br />70 <br />
