Gray, Jr <br />Coastal Engineer <br />SUBJECT: <br />CONSEN <br />Work Order No. 8 Ecological Associates, Inc. <br />Sector 3 Beach Restoration Project <br />Post Construction Biological Monitoring Services <br />DATE: March 16, 2015 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On March 19, 2013 the Board approved a contract with Ecological Associates, Inc. (EAI) for <br />professional coastal environmental services in Indian River County for a two-year term, 2013- <br />2015. On March 17, 2015 the Board renewed the contract until March 19, 2017. EAI is the <br />selected County consultant for professional biological monitoring services related to the Sector <br />3 Beach Restoration Project. <br />The proposed Work Order No. 8 provides year 2015 post construction biological monitoring <br />services relative to sea turtle monitoring and reporting and Nearshore Hardbottom monitoring <br />and reporting of the Sector 3 Beach Restoration Project Area. By Permit, annual Post <br />Construction Biological monitoring is required for 3 years following a Targe scale beach <br />restoration project. Work Order No. 8 also includes post construction sea turtle monitoring of <br />Sector 3 Dune Repair Project. The 2015 monitoring entails the following: <br />• "Year 3" annual post construction biological monitoring of the Phase 2b project area. <br />• Sector 3 Dune Repair Project - Post construction sea turtle monitoring. <br />Work Order No. 8 totals a lump sum amount of $299,883 <br />All subsequent annual biological monitoring of the Sector 3 Project area will be addressed <br />through future work orders. <br />F:\Public Works\JamesG\Sector 3\EAI Work Orders\EAI WO # 8\FINAL agenda item Ecological Associates Inc <br />Work Order No. 8 -- 3-24-15.docx <br />27 <br />
