5.F <br />PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF MAY, 2015 AS <br />Historic Preservation Month <br />WHEREAS, historic preservation is an effective tool for economic development, tourism <br />promotion, growth management, neighborhood revitalization, fostering local pride, and <br />maintaining overall community character; and <br />WHEREAS, historic preservation encourages community reinvestment, saving resources, <br />and promoting socially, culturally, and economically rich communities; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important to celebrate the role of history in our lives and the contributions <br />made by dedicated individuals in helping to preserve the tangible aspects of the heritage that <br />has shaped us as a people; and <br />WHEREAS, the theme for National Historic Preservation Month 2015 in Indian River <br />County is Valuing Our Sense of Place: Discover, Preserve, Cherish, cosponsored by the <br />National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Indian River County Historical Society. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the month of May, 2015, be <br />designated as Historic Preservation Month in Indian River County, and the Board encourages <br />all citizens to recognize the vital role historic preservation plays in our community. <br />Adopted this 21st day of April, 2015. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Wesley S.
