539 <br />R E S Q L U T I 0 E <br />I <br />!, WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County is informed that <br />at a point on State Road 60 in Indian River County and approximately twenty-five miles west <br />!!of <br />i <br />Vero Beach, water stands frequently for a distance of some several hundred feet on the pavedl` <br />:,portion of said road, and to a depth of six or eight inches, and which condition renders such <br />road unsafe for travel the time the same exists, damage to said road <br />j at and also will cause <br />j <br />i <br />and the deterioration thereof; therefore, <br />RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners herewith respectfully request the a <br />i <br />p,State Road Department of Florida to give attention to such condition and to take such means as <br />may be necessary to correct the same. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of this Board forwark a certified copy of ;6 <br />!this Resolution to the State Road Department of Florida at Tallahassee, and a certified copy <br />i <br />hereof to said department at its Fort Lauderdale office. <br />Motion for the adoption of the Resolution was seconded by Commissioner Waddell and <br />ie <br />� <br />uhanimously adopted. j <br />Commissioner Waddell Introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption as <br />!If ollows to -wit s <br />AlE3QLUT.1Q'A �I <br />,i <br />WHEREAS, Honorable J. L. Helpling was a citizen and.resident of Indian River County <br />Ifor many years and passed away on July 16, 1949, and at the time of his death.was serving as a <br />I' <br />member of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida; and, <br />j <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Helpling was at all times a good citizen of this County and was highly <br />j,respected <br />by all who had contact with him; and, <br />nl <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Helpling rendered splendid service as a member of the Board of County m <br />Commissioners of this County and as a citizen was at all times active in furthering the dev- <br />it elopment of the County and promoting the welfare of its citizens; therefore' <br />ap <br />!j BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County that the <br />�i <br />11 members of this Board individually and the citizens of the County generally are deeply grieved p' <br />by the passing of Mr. Helpling and herewith extend sincere sympathy to the members of his <br />; family. <br />j BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread in full upon the minutes of p <br />Wthis Board and that a copy hereof be forwarded to Mrs. Jean J. Helpling, the widow of j <br />Mr. Helpling. <br />Motion for the adoption of the Resolution was seconded by Commissioner Stewart and <br />;unanimously adopted. <br />i` <br />I RE12LUT1,21 <br />Commissioner Waddell introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption as � <br />j" <br />follows, to -wit: <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution adopted October 59 1948, this Board did transfer <br />i; Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($79500.00) in unallocated funds derived from the licens- <br />ing and taxing of racing to the Road and Bridge Fund of this County; and, <br />WHEREAS, said Road and Bridge Fund is not in need of said Seven Thousand, Five <br />a <br />has <br />a Hundred Dollars ($79500.00) at this time nor to complete the current fiscal year and <br />surplus now existing in excess of Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00) and above <br />ii <br />
