1fthe meds of said fund in the current year; and, <br />i; <br />WHEREAS, the general fund of said County and this Board is in need of funds to com-` <br />`,iplete the current fiscal year and particularly by reason of necessary additional expenses for <br />1111public welfare and health; and, <br />C WHEREAS, said -Resolution of October 5th and said transfer pursuant thereto and this <br />'iResolution are all within a single fiscal year; therefore, <br />h; <br />j BE IT RESOLVED, that said Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00) of monies <br />derived from licensing and taxing of racing and deposited as aforesaid in the County Road <br />IN <br />!and Bridge Fund be now transferred from said Road and Bridge Fund to said General Fund and <br />said monies so transferred be used for and by said Genera; Fund. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman and Clerk to this Board are herewith auth- <br />I' <br />l,orized to make such transfer immediately. <br />Motion for the adoption of the Resolution was seconded by Commissioner Watts and <br />;unanimously adopted. <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />R E S 0 L U T I 0 E <br />Commissioner Stewart introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption as <br />follows, to -wits <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 25905, Acts of the Florida Legislature, adopted at the regular <br />,session in 1949, provided that this Board, in its discretion, upon determining that there is <br />Ian excess and surplus over and above the sums deemed reasonably necessary for all other <br />purposes of the Fine and Forfeiture Fund of this County in the current year, may appropriate <br />,such surplus to the purpose of constructing, equiping, remodeling, adding to, improving and <br />Alproviding additional equipment for the existing County Jail in this County and may transfer <br />,,said surplus to a special fund known as "Indian River County Jail Improvement Fund". <br />RESOLVED, that this Board does herewith determine that there is the sum of Fourteen <br />Thousand Dollars ($149000.00) surplus funds of the Fine and Forfeiture Fund of this County and <br />which sum constitutes an excess and surplus over and above the sums deemed reasonably necessary <br />for all other purposes of the Fine and Forfeiture Fund of this County in this year. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000.00) is herewith <br />budgeted to be used for the purposes provided in said Chapter 25905 and it is herewith ordered <br />;that said sum of Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000.00) be transferred from the Fine and For - <br />I <br />'Ifeiture Fund of this County to the special fund known as "Indian River County Jail Improvement <br />!Fund" and that the Chairman and Clerk to this Board are authorized and instructed to make such <br />ptransfer promptly. <br />Motion for the adoption of the Resolution was seconded by Commissioner Waddell and <br />;unanimously adopted. <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - <br />r <br />M. A. Boudet, County Agent, submitted a report of his activities for the month of <br />!July. Said report was received and ordered filed with the Clerk. <br />a <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - <br />The Board then proceeded with the matter of fixing the rate of taxation for Indian <br />!River County for the year 1949 and, after careful consideration of the estimated receipts and <br />,expenditures, the following resolution was introduced by Commissioner Watts who moved its <br />adoption, to -wits <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
