DeBlois,AICD <br /> Chief, Environmental Planning <br /> DATE: June 2,2015 <br /> RE: Approval of Change Order No. 2 to a Contract with Summerlin's Marine <br /> Construction, LLC for Boat Dock Repair / Replacement at the Jones's Pier <br /> Conservation Area <br /> It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners formally consider the following information at <br /> the Board's regular meeting of June 9, 2015. <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br /> On November 18, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners approved a construction agreement with <br /> Summerlin's Marine Construction, LLC to repair docks at the Jones's Pier Conservation Area, as <br /> described in a Request for Proposals (RFP). As specified in the RFP, a small, dilapidated single-family <br /> dock on the northern shore of the property was originally slated to be removed and not replaced. At the <br /> Board's November 18, 2014 meeting, however, the Board approved a $10,880.00 change order (Change <br /> Order #1) to the RFP contract for Summerlin's Marine Construction to replace the northern dock, in <br /> addition to repairs to the main multi-slip dock facility. <br /> Summerlin's Marine Construction has mobilized and is now in the process of conducting the dock <br /> repairs. During the course of that process, staff, in coordination with the contractor, as determined a need <br /> for a second change order relating to replacement of the northern small dock. <br /> Proposed Change Order#2(Attachment 1 to this report) is summarized as follows: <br /> • Change Order#2: $4,850.00 (total) for: safety curbing on each side of the dock ($1,350.00); for <br /> an 8' x 10' reconstructed terminal platform($3,200.00); and for related engineering($300.00). <br /> Change Order#2 is herein presented for the Board's approval consideration. <br /> 1 <br /> 36 <br />
