524 adopted by the City Council of said City under date of December 28, 1949, reciting that <br />said property is not now being used for any public purposes and will not beeneeded in the <br />future for any public purpose, and ordering the sale of said property; therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, does hereby revoke its dedication for public use and purposes of the following <br />parcels of land situated in the City of Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida, described <br />as follows, to -wit: <br />Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 2, Edgewood Addition to Vero, according to plat filed in <br />the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of St. Lucie County, Florida, in Plat Book 2, <br />page 28; said land now lying and being in City of Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida. <br />And said Board does herewith instruct the Clerk of this Board and the Clerk of the <br />Citcuit Court of Indian River County, Florida, to cause his records to show accordingly and to <br />forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Tax Assessor of Indian River County and <br />to the Tax Assessor of the City of Vero Beach, Florida. <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />f <br />On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Stewart and carried, <br />request <br />the following/fom the City of Vero Beach was granted. <br />February 6, 1950 <br />MEMO TO BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERF° <br />In a recent meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Nunbil of <br />the City of Vero Beach discussion was had with respect to the use to be made of the old Vero <br />Beach bridge after the construction of the new bridge. At that time it seemed to be the <br />concensus of opinion that the City might wish to acquire from the State Road Department <br />some portion of the existing bridge structure to be used as a fishing pier or dock. <br />At the same time discussion was had with respect to the land forming the bridge <br />head on each shore of the present existing bridge. It was my recollection in examining <br />Abstracts of Title on the East shore, that there appears of record a Deed conveying a strip <br />of land 100 feet square to the old Vero Bridge District for purposes of a bridge head on the <br />East shore. It is probable that the same area for bridge head exists on the West shore. <br />Since the City owns all of the property surrounding the bridge head, the City would like to <br />know whether or not the County would be agreeable to conveying the East Bridge head to <br />and <br />the City/at the same time convey to the City any part of the West bridge head not required for <br />the new bridge. <br />Sherman N. Smith, Jr. <br />A certified copy of Resolution duly adopted by the County Democratic Executive <br />Committee setting out the party assessment levied against the various candidates in the <br />Democratic Primary Election to be held Tuesday, May 2, 1950, was received and carefully <br />noted. <br />The Board then proceeded to make levies against the various offices to cover the <br />cost of holding such Primary Election in May, the assdssments so levied being as follows: <br />Democratic Executive County <br />Committee Assessments. <br />Representative $ 7.20 $ 10.80 <br />County Commissioner 3.00 4.00 <br />Board Public Instruction 3.00 4.00 <br />Constable 2.00 4.00 <br />Justice of Peace 2.00 4.00 <br />County Surveyor 1.00 2.00 <br />and ordered that the assessments so levied against the respective offices be collected by the <br />Clerk of the Circuit Court within the time prescribed by law, and placed in the General Revenue <br />ilh.
