Pursuant to the foregoing "Notice Inviting Bids" bids were received from Mr. <br />Harvey Reisen, Melbourne, Florida, for general construction in the sum of $27,990.00, and <br />from Mr. G. W. Ryles, Vero Beach, Florida, for general construction in the sum of $43,352.65. <br />No bids were received on jail equipment. <br />After discussion and consideration of the matter it was moved by Commissioner <br />seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried, that receipt of bids be noted in the <br />and to extend the time for receiving 101 equipment bids to August 29, 1950, and <br />Stewart, <br />minutes, <br />that the following letters be written to the foregoing contractors who had submitted bids <br />as to the general construction work as follows, to -wits <br />August 1, 1950 <br />Mr. G. W. Tyles, Contractor <br />Vero Beach, Florida <br />Dear Sirs <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County request that you submit <br />optional figures as called for on the proposal form for the Indian River County Jail <br />alterations and additions and that you extend the coverage of your bid bond to Tuesde;► <br />Morning, August 29, at which time the Board has agreed to meet to make its decisions <br />regarding this work. Any variations which may occur in your proposald due to changes <br />in prices should"be submitted to the Board prior to that date. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />Douglas Baker <br />Clerk Board County Com- <br />missioners <br />- - - 01. The Board has <br />decided to arrive at its decision on Tuesday Morning, August. 29. Smith, Jr., Attoriey, was requested to prepare Notice Inviting Bids for the <br />jail equipment work required by alterations and'additions to the County jail according to <br />the plans and part numbered 2 of the specifications on file with the Clerk of said. Board. <br />Said bids to be delivered to the Clerk in the Indian River County Court House at Vero Beach, <br />Florida, to the hour of 10:00 o'clock A. M., August 29, 1950. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Stewart, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried, <br />to purchase Borrow Pit described as W 10 A of E 20.54 A of Tract 8, Sec. 21, Twp. 33, Rge. 39 <br />from Russell A. and Evelyn R. Davis for a sum not to bxceed $5000.00 in connection with State <br />Road 3-611,; Section 8852-150. <br />The several bilis and accounts against the County, having been audited, were examined <br />and found correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement of same. Such bills and <br />accounts being on filedin the office of the Clerk of The Circuit Court, the Warrants se <br />issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, as provided <br />by the rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being <br />made a part of these minutes. <br />The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disburse- <br />ments of the various funds, which having been audited were found to be correct. <br />
