C'ONTR ACT <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of September 20, 2002: <br />TO: Honorable Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: Jim Chandler, County Administrator <br />r <br />FROM: John King, Director <br />Department of Em enc Services <br />DATE: September 20, 2002 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Renewal of 800 MHz Communications System Infrastructure <br />Maintenance Contract with Communications International, Inc. <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Since the completion of the 800 MHz radio system project, the Board of County <br />Commissioners has approved a contract with Communications International, Inc. to provide <br />backbone/infrastructure maintenance for the 800 MHz Communications System. The <br />existing contract provides for renewal or extension of the contract in one (1) year <br />increments upon mutual consent of the parties and price adjustments based on the <br />Consumer Pnce Index (CPI). <br />The proposed contract renewal for FY 2002/03 is $157,986.84 ($13,165.57 per month). <br />This renewal period represents an annual increase of $3,862.56, which is based on the <br />May 2002 Consumer Price Index, as required by the agreement. <br />The terms and conditions of the agreement have not changed from the previously <br />approved FY 2001/02 contract. Funding for the renewal of the communications system <br />backbone/infrastructure maintenance contract is included in the FY 2002/03 <br />Communications/Emergency Services (001-107) budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the referenced contract with funding provided from the <br />Communications/Emergency Services budget. <br />OCTOBER 1, 2002 <br />u <br />t <br />65 <br />• <br />rfre <br />iJ <br />
