Plan 6 <br />Beach all one district <br />Sebastian split on CR 512 <br />South County all one district <br />West County split on SR 60 <br />Plan 7 <br />Beach split in two districts <br />Sebastian split on Barber, then CR 512 <br />South County all one district <br />West County split on SR 60 <br />Grand Harbor part of "beach" district <br />Supervisor Clem noted that the software was purchased 1 % years ago and her office has <br />been building the data base since then. There has been a lot of growth in the north and south of <br />the County. No demographics were used and will not be used until the redistricting process is <br />completed. <br />Chairman Ginn announced that the public should feel free to come to the front of the <br />Chambers to inspect the maps. She recessed the meeting at 7:22 p.m. to give everyone an <br />opportunity to review the maps. <br />The Chairman resumed the meeting at 7:35 p.m. and asked for any public discussion. <br />There being none, the Chairman asked if any of the Commissioners had any questions. <br />Commissioner Tippin questioned whether future growth had been considered. and <br />Chairman Ginn noted that we are not allowed to incorporate future growth but must go by the <br />available census numbers. <br />Commissioner Tippin noted that reports on permitting show that the south portion of the <br />County is the fastest growing district by far. <br />Chairman Ginn stated that if the districts become too unbalanced, redistricting can be <br />addressed in between now and the next census, in any odd -numbered year. <br />OCTOBER 16, 2001 -3- <br />
