Chairman Ginn continued that University of Gainesville population numbers projected <br />for 2000 were used as follows: District 1 - 291973; District 2 - 21,601; District 3 - 19,585; <br />District 4 - 22,900; and District 5 - 17,567. The County must make changes every 10 years, <br />based on the latest census figures. The Supervisor of Elections had purchased the GeoElections <br />software and the Board agreed to accept the Supervisor's product which is being presented <br />tonight. In making these changes, political parties are not considered. No decisions will be <br />reached tonight as this is just a workshop to give the public an opportunity for input into the <br />process. A public hearing will be held on October 23`d, 2001, at which time a plan will be <br />selected.
