There is a great concern that streamlining the permitting process would <br />have a cumulative effect on the Lagoon and would allow septic tanks in wetland areas. <br />Mr. Egan also commended Gene Rauth and the Solid Waste Disposal District for <br />their efforts in formulating a stormwater plan to use discharge water for beneficial purposes. <br />This plan will not only benefit Indian River County but the whole state. There is a lot of <br />support for these innovative solutions to water discharge problems. <br />Mr. Egan then asked the Board for its continuing support of expanding preservation <br />lands to create buffer zones and the Sebastian River muck dredging project. He noted that <br />Indian River County has been rated by the Audubon Society as the most protective county <br />on the Indian River. <br />B.
