SHERIFF- OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE GRANTS- FLORIDA <br />DEPARTMENT OF LA W ENFORCEMENT - FY 2001-02 B YRNE STATE AND <br />LOCAL LAWENFORCEMENT GRANTS (SUBSTANCE ABUSE <br />ADMINISTRA TION, PRE VENT II, AND MUL TI -A GENC Y DR UG <br />ENFORCEMENT UNIT VII) <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of October 15, 2001: <br />TO: Members of the Board of County Commissioners <br />DATE: October 15, 2001 <br />SUBJECT: OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE GRANTS <br />FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT <br />FY 2001/2002 BYRNE STATE AND LOCAL LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT GRANTS <br />THROUGH: Joseph A. Baird <br />Assistant County Administrator <br />FROM: Jason E. Brown <br />Budget Manager <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS <br />On June 5, 20011 the Board of County Commissioners approved the Application for Funding <br />Assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for the Multi -Agency Drug <br />Enforcement Unit, the Substance Abuse Council and Prevent grants for the fiscal year <br />2001/2002. On October 3, 2001, Indian River County received notification of the grant awards <br />from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and a Certificate of Acceptance for each grant, <br />which constitutes official acceptance of the award. These Certificates must be approved and <br />received by the Department within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of the award, and prior <br />to the reimbursement of any project expenditures. <br />Also included for approval by the Board are two state -required agreements between the Board of <br />County Commissioners and the Substance Abuse Council of Indian River County for the <br />Substance Abuse Administration Grant XII and the Prevent II Grant. <br />Copies of the approved subgrant applications are available for review in the Commission Office. <br />RECOMDIENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the Certification of <br />Acceptance of Subgrant Award for the Multi -Agency Drug Enforcement Unit (M.A.C_E.) Grant <br />in the amount of SS3,128.50; the Substance Abuse Administration Grant XII in the amount of <br />S 14,422.00, and the Prevent II Grant in the amount of S46,6 '15.50, and also the two state required <br />Agreements. <br />OCTOBER 23, 2001 <br />.18- <br />
